-blacksheep's Fall 2013 Anime List

As usual, I'm trusting Fall season with its amazing offerings. I've set myself to watch more that 20 shows this coming season despite my obvious time constraints. It'll be a difficult burden to watch them all at the same time so I become more picky this time around (but I still ended up deciding to watch so many series)

This season offers a lot of very interesting and I believe watchable series. Probably some of my highly anticipated series this season includes Pupa (that damn plot and horror x psychological genre), Super Seisyun Brothers (not on everyone's radar but this is just me being all so soft for slice of life series), Kuroko no Basuke 2 (Winter Cup has some decent set of matches I'll just be crossing my fingers that the ending of this season won't be a drag because of the current direction of the manga), Kyoukai no Kanata (that interesting plot and KyoAni animation), Golden Time, Samurai Flamenco, and a lot more that's so damn difficult to enumerate. But yeah get the point, this season's going to be amazing.

Similar to last season, I decided to split my watch list into 3 since I am trying to lessen the series I'll watch weekly. I have 24 series all in all. My commentary on each series is divided into 2 short paragraphs - my general thoughts on the series and my thoughts on the cast/voice actors (because I damn care so much about voice actors). The series on my last list will only have quick commentary since I'm not entirely up for them.

Will Watch Weekly.
The series that falls under here doesn't entirely mean that they are my top picks for the season. These are just series I want to watch and I can probably enjoy watching on a weekly basis

Log Horizon [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Adventure, Fantasy, Magic, Romance, Shounen
Production: Satelight
Synopsis:
The story begins when 30,000 Japanese gamers are trapped in the fantasy online game world Elder Tale. What was once a sword-and-sorcery world is now the real world. The main lead Shiroe attempts to survive with his old friend Naotsugu and the beautiful assassin Akatsuki.
[ANN via MAL]
Thoughts:
Did anyone said 'gamers are trapped in the fantasy online game'? Sounds like Sword Art Online to me (and I'm pretty positive that most anime fans had that initial thought). But looking at Log Horizon, I honestly think that it looks more like the typical MMORPG that I have in mind with classes like Enchanter, Guardian, Assassin and Swashbuckler (whatever that is. lol) as stated in this thread in MAL. Probably because of its 'fantasy' setting since SAO had a more adventure-oriented while ALO centers itself on the concept of flying… Directed by Ishihira Shinji who also handled Fairy Tail, I'm pretty sure that this'll turn out nicely as a shounen battle-fantasy series.
Log Horizon is headed by Terashima Takuma (Ittoki Otoya, YamaKen) as Shiroe. I thought Terashima will grow an me as a voice actor, turns out after his role as Ittoki and YamaKen, he doesn't really have any notable characters for me voice acting-wise. Kato Emiri (Hachikuji Mayoi, Kyuubey) and Maeno Tomoaki (Yukina Kou) will also be playing major roles in the series. Tomoaki isn't exactly someone who has impressed me, in fact, I haven't see many of his roles (lol). Emiri, on the other hand, has lend her voice to several interesting characters that some of which made a mark in me. So I'll be looking forward to Emiri's fun voice acting here :3 And did I mention that the supporting characters involves a huge cast of very notable voice actors such as Ohsaka Ryota and Sakurai Takahiro? :D

Nagi no Asukara [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre:
Production: P.A. Works
Synopsis:
The series centers around two middle school friends, the indecisive crybaby Manaka Mukaido and Hikari Sakishima, who has looked after her since they were children.
[MAL]
Thoughts:
Nagi no Asukara looks like some typical P.A. Works drama-slice of life series (Angel Beats!, TARI TARI, Hanasaku Iroha) and I honestly don't have much problem with it since I'm quite the drama-jerk here. But I do have to admit that they're not particularly that good in the genre since I believe that they have a problem regarding the emotional flow of a series. TARI TARI is pretty damn bad, in my opinion; HanaIro is more of a so-so; while Angel Beats! is more on plot hole problem which is kind of something that doesn't exactly concerns Nagi no Asukara. I'm not familiar with the director so I'll go through the writer Okada Mari instead. In terms of the feel and atmosphere, I think that Nagi no Asukara looks more like AnoHana based on the works of Okada Mari which is kind of a good thing for me.
I've already kind of talk about how much I like both HanaKana (Sengoku Nadeko, Mayushii) and Hanae Natsuki (Wien, Haimura Kiri) for having the main roles so let me go through the secondary characters. I'm pretty glad to see Ishikawa Kaito (Ledo) getting a few more roles this season. I'd definitely like to hear more of him and I'm definitely looking forward to this guy as well on my new VA lists :3 There's also Kayano Ai (Menma, Yuzuriha Inori) who have done a few spectacular roles as well as Ohsaka Ryota (Sanada Yuki, Tachibana Sugane) whom I consider to be the next big name voice actor out there since he has been doing a pretty great job despite being around voice acting for around 2years (I think...).

Super Seisyun Brothers [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Comedy, Slice of Life, Josei
Production: AIC PLUS+
Synopsis:
The manga tells the story of siblings and their new love. There are two sets of strange siblings — each with an older sister and a younger brother. Because they are so similar, they are all friends with each other. It is a slice-of-life story with a lot of mishaps. The two sets of siblings' lives are full of comedy and otaku humor in this slice-of-life story. Each set of siblings thought they would only have each other, but birds of a similar feather flock together to create this comedy.
[ANN]
Thoughts:
A story about two sets of fraternal twins? While the josei genre as stated by MAL is definitely attractive, I was initially attracted by the visual art poster. It looks really refreshing and beautiful but it isn't really anything special. Anyway, I just found out that the writer of this series is the same person who worked on Kimi ni Todoke which I absolutely love. She's also the same person who's working on Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi which I have yet to watch.
The cast is a great bunch with Kayano Ai (Menma, Yuzuriha Inori) being the most experience voice actor in the main cast. The other female in the cast is Yamamoto Nozomi (Kusunoki Yukimura, Bouhatei Tetora) whom haven't made so much to name for herself. The two main guys, on the other hand, are both voice actors I'm already eyeing. Ohsaka Ryota (Maou Sadao, Tachibana Sugane), I believe, has made a name for himself ever since he voiced Yuki in Tsuritama. Not only is he good looking ( ω ) but he also has great talent. Together with Ryota is the fairly new Ishikawa Kaito who has gotten a couple of interesting roles for this coming season and has caught my interest after doing a great job in voicing Ledo in Suisei no Gargantia.

Daiya no Ace [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Comedy, School, Shounen, Sports
Synopsis:
The story follows Eijun Sawamura, a pitcher who joins an elite school with a brilliant catcher named Kazuya Miyuki. Together with the rest of the team, they strive for Japan's storied Koushien championships through hard work and determination.
[ANN via MAL]
Thoughts:
I'm still not entirely fond of sports series but I'm definitely more than willing to try this one and I have a pretty good feeling that I'd like it. While both director and writer are fairly new to me a collaboration between Madhouse and Prod I.G looks pretty damn convincing. Unlike basketball (since KuroBas was the first sports anime I really got engaged to), I don't really know so much about baseball but I do have some idea at how it works since a few anime have baseball episodes (e.g. Little Busters!, Angel Beats!). Despite my lack of knowledge about the sports, I think that it won't really hurt so much my enjoyment of the series(:
Similar to the previous series I've written about, this one also has a great set of cast (ohdamn another Ohsaka Ryota series XD). Headed by, once again, Ohsaka Ryota ('cause he's so damn amazing he has to grab every character out there. lol) as Sawamura Eijun the main character and a pitcher. Other main cast includes Sakurai Takahiro (Makishima Shougo, YukiAtsu), Hanae Natsuki (Haimura Kiri, Wien) and Shimazaki Nobunaga (Sakurai Ryou, Kirishima Kaito). I read through the profiles of the characters in MAL and Sakurai's character is pretty damn likeable - He is thought to have a 'bad personality' by classmates and teammates. HAHAHA. Hanae (another rising VA) will be playing a tsukkomi character. I'll definitely be looking forward to that :3 Finally Shimazaki will be playing the rival of Ryota. Makes me wonder how he'll go about that role ( ω )

Kuroko no Basuke Second Season [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Comedy, School, Shounen, Sports

Thoughts:
I personally haven't been following the manga lately but here's what I have to tell everyone, Winter Cup (which is where this season will probably open) hasn't ended yet. In my personal opinion, Winter Cup isn't exactly that good. The matches were intense but not exactly all the time but hey, gotta give some thumbs up to Tadatoshi Fujimaki-sensei for having a few tricks out from his sleeves in here which made some of the characters a bit more interesting (or noticeable) than before. But what I particularly didn't like in this long competition is the little less interesting matches (for some) and those damn extra tricks of the Kiseki no Sedai - seriously that zone-thing and perfect copy? -__- he could have come up with something better. And that backstory - Wait. Was I spoiling too much there? @__@
VA thoughts… uhmmm… I'm looking forward to more Suwabe Junichi (Houtsuin Yamato, Katsuragi Junichi) voicing Aomine and the rest of the Touou Gakuen members. Really. I'm also looking forward to both Kamiya Hiroshi (Araragi Koyomi, Orihara Izaya) as Akashi and Suzumura Kenichi (Okita Sougo, Asuka Shinn) as Murasakibara since both of which have done a really great job on the Tip Off special. I'm also looking forward to other recurring characters which will be a bit tiring to mention but yeah, as obvious as it seems, I'll never fangirl over another series as much as I'm fangirling on KuroBas (and don't go mentioning FREE! to me here, hahaha).

Kyoukai no Kanata [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Slice of Life, Supernatural
Production: Kyoto Animation
Synopsis:
The dark fantasy follows a high school sophomore named Akihito Kanbara. Although the boy appears human, he is half youmu and invulnerable to wounds because he can heal quickly. One day, Akihito meets freshman Mirai Kuriyama when it seems she is about to jump from the school rooftop. Mirai is isolated because of her ability to manipulate blood, which is unique even among members of the spirit world. Disturbing events begin to unfold after Akihito saves Mirai.
[ANN via MAL]
Thoughts:
And I was like, it's about time KyoAni. I kind of skipped this season's KyoAni (but I'll probably watch FREE! eventually). The plot is pretty interesting deym mysterious female deadman (LOL). But Mirai isn't exactly the only one interesting here since Akihito himself has his own ability. Despite the lack of experience of director Ishidate Taichi, I'm counting on Hanada Jukki's (Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, Steins;Gate) skills mainly due to the number of series he has written which I liked.
The cast is headed by KENN (Nanba Hibito, Tsukishima Jinbei) and Taneda Risa (Oikawa Asami, Watanabe Saki) together with Chihara Minori (Nagato Yuki, Muramasa Konoha) and Suzuki Tatsuhisa (Takao Kazunari, Hasebe Yutaka). I don't find anything particularly interesting here aside from Tatsuhisa. The rest of the main cast have done a good amount of voice acting but none of which have grabbed my attention. But anyway as long as they do their thing nicely, I'm betting that everyone's really here for the KyoAni animation and its interesting premise.

Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita. [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, Romance
Production: asread
Synopsis:
The story revolves around Raul, a boy who did not become a Hero, since the demon lord was already defeated just before his Hero exams. His dreams dashed, Raul spends his days working at a magic shop in the capital. One day, a part-time job seeker appears at the shop with an amazing résumé:
Name: Phino
Previous Occupation: Demon Lord Heir
Motive: Because my father was defeated
The work comedy revolves around this former Hero-in-training and the daughter of the demon lord.
[ANN via MAL]
Thoughts:
Hataraku Maou-sama! anyone? I'm pretty sure Maou-sama! fans thought about it. But this one had its own uniqueness as well. While Maou-sama! is about a demon lord who was teleported to the earth and had to work in MgRonals to conquer the world, YuSibu is about a hero who will probably be working with a demon lord heir. But still, I think that both of which will have fairly similar elements given that YuSibu also have comedy and romance. Comparisons aside, I'm looking forward to this fun-looking series.
Our cast is headed by two newbie voice actors: Koumoto Keisuke and Tadokoro Azusa. I don't think they can surpass the performance done by Ohsaka Ryota and Hikasa Yoko but still, I'm looking forward to both of them on having a good job. Aside from that, it seems that entire cast itself is full of newbie voice actors other than Kawahara Yoshihisa (Statice Bobby, Yasuoka Hiromi) who've been voice acting for as early as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters but hasn't exactly made an impact.

Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Come o Zenryoku de [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Comedy, Romance, School
Production: Diomedia
Synopsis:
The story centers around Kanade Amakusa, a boy cursed with the mental power of "absolute multiple-choice"—a multiple-choice quiz will suddenly appear in his mind, and the choice he makes will become his reality. For example, he would have to choose between going nude from the waist up or the waist down in school. While in school, he is given another choice: 1) A beautiful girl will fall before him or 2) he will fall from the rooftop in female clothes. He chooses option 1, and a blonde girl named Chocolat falls before him.
[ANN via MAL]
Thoughts:
Absolute multiple-choice! A life with a VN-like multiple choice every now and then seems like a pretty funny premise. That's definitely what caught my attention here. Being another series based on a light novel with a good amount of female cast, I just have this bad feeling that somewhere along the lines it'll turn into some harem series but I'm crossing my fingers that it'll all be good.
Headed by Toyonaga Toshiyuki (Matsuoka Shun, Ryugamine Mikado) whom I really like as Fuwa Mahiro in last Fall's Zetsuen no Tempest. I think that it's been awhile since I saw him in a lead cast and seeing him here just feels nice :3 Anyway, Toyonaga's partner in here is Sadohara Kaori who's a fairly new voice actor. I guess I'll just see in here how she'll do (but I probably won't care so much about her since I don't exactly care so much about female voice actors -_- unless she does something really memorable).

Samurai Flamenco [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Action
Production: manglobe
Synopsis:
Masayoshi Hazama: a man who has become a superhero “by himself” with no superhuman powers or any sort of high-tech conversions, NONE!! Hidenori Goto: a cop who found out the true identity of “the superhero” by a strange twist of fate and thus constantly gets in trouble thanks to Hazama, the superhero. This is the story of the birth of a true hero featuring these two young men with a touch of comedy and serious drama, while they come face to face with hardships as they search for the true meaning of becoming a hero of justice in this world!
[Aniplex via ANN]
Thoughts:
At first there were those interesting taglines: "To those 'adults' who don't want to become adults..." and "Hero will never give up, never hide, never be defeated, never accept evil." I find them quite interesting. Really. I don't have any idea what to expect back then but it does seem to involve heroes and probably comedy of immaturity (based on that first tagline). Aside from that, director Omori Takahiro who directed DURARARA!!, Baccano! and the Natsume Yuujinchou series definitely holds a great name that makes me want to expect more from this series. This guy right here will definitely make this thing EPIC (or so I think).
The cast being headed by the ever so EPIC comedy voice actor Sugita Tomokazu (Tabata Hidenori, Chamber) and newbie voice actor Masuda Toshiki (Kamishiro Ryoga). I'm definitely seeing Sugita handling the comedic role in here and Masuda going on serious and stuff but still having his light moments. The female cast, on the other hand, have two newbies: Ichimichi Mao and Yamazaki Erii together with the Tomatsu Haruka (Anaru, Takatsuki Ichika).

Golden Time [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Comedy, Romance, Seinen
Production: J.C. Staff
Synopsis:
Tada Banri, a newly admitted student at a private law school in Tokyo, found himself completely lost after the opening ceremony, trying to find his way to the freshman orientation. At that moment, he ran into another lost freshman from the same school, Yanagisawa Mitsuo, and they hit it off at once. Somehow arriving at their intended goal just on time, there appeared in front of the two a beautiful girl holding a bouquet of roses. The girl then whacked Mitsuo across the face with the bouquet and handed the flowers over to him. "Freshman, congratulations", was all she said, and then left. The stylish, well dressed, perfect woman that had swung at Mitsuo was his childhood friend, Kaga Kouko. As children they had promised to marry each other one day, fulfilling their dreams. In order to escape from her, Mitsuo had gone out secretly and taken the examination for this well known private college, but now she showed up in the freshman orientation hall. She too had taken the law school entrance examination, catching up with him there.
[Baka-Tsuki via MAL]
Thoughts:
It's a rom-com by J.C. Staff :3 The synopsis gives off the genetic type of story but it's seinen so I'm expecting a better and more mature execution of romance in here. I'm honestly a bit tired from all those superficial shoujo romance out there. Okay, so the original creator of this series is Takemiya Yuyuko, the same person responsible for Toradora! which I'm pretty positive many people liked (including me perhaps but I honestly need a refresher here). Guess that's one more reason to actually keep an eye out for this series :3
Headed by two newbie voice actors Furukawa Makoto and Ishikawa Kaito (Ledo) who's looking pretty sweet this season with four main characters this season and all of which I'm looking forward to watching :3 But hey, he's a pretty nice guy - worked really great with Ledo from Suisei no Gargantia. Our main heroine is Horie Yui (Kushieda Minori, Hanekawa Tsubasa) who has made a great name for herself thus I can already see how she's going around with her character here.

Will Marathon at the end of the season.
The series that fall under this part of my list are mostly series I think I'll be needing a little bit of my mind into it although not so much, of course. I've placed most heavy plot series in here and depending on their length and some first impression posts from other bloggers, I might move them to my weekly series.

COPPELION [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Action, Sci-Fi, Seinen
Production: GoHands
Synopsis:
The story is set in 2036, after radioactive contamination from a nuclear accident has put Tokyo under a blockade. Three high school girls have been sent to this dead city. Thanks to genetic engineering, the three girls have been impervious to radioactivity since birth. They form a special forces unit, codenamed "Coppelion," in the 3rd Division of Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force.
[ANN]
Thoughts:
The announcement for this series dates a couple of years back and I honestly thought that it was an abandoned project. When I saw news that it'll finally air this Fall I was really glad. The premise of this series is just so interesting that it'll be very disappointing to pass something like this. Also, seeing that GoHands and Suzuki Shingo is out there handling it, I'm keeping my eye out for those pretty clean cut art and animation.
The cast is headed by Hanazawa Kana (Fuwa Aika, KuroNeko), Tomatsu Haruka (Anaru, Yuuki Asuna) and Akesaka Satomi. It's great seeing HanaKana there in the cast 'cause I don't remember hearing her anywhere this season yet :3 The rest of the cast is also looking great with Suzumura Kenichi, Horie Yui, Sakamoto Maaya and Noto Mamiko there in the list.

KILL la KILL [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Action, School
Production: Trigger
Synopsis:
The story is set on a high school that the student council president Satsuki Kiryuuin rules by force. Wielding a giant Basami scissors sword, the wandering transfer student Ryuuko Matoi brings about upheaval on the campus. Ryuuko searches for the mysterious figure who caused her father's death, but confronting her are the student council's "four divine kings." Fortunately, Ryuuko is aided by a talking sailor uniform who tells her, "Wear me. When I am worn by you, this power will become manifest."
[MAL]
Thoughts:
ohgod a talking uniform!? @_@ ohwell. I personally think that the synopsis is more like so-so and it could depend nicely on the presentation of the action-battles. I'm actually not that sure about how I feel about this series and I don't exactly under why a number of people are pretty interested on this one. As of now, I haven't exactly seen anything notable about this series. But still I'm trying it out. AND if this turns out good, I'm definitely watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann already! - well people  are probably watching this because of the sight of Gurren Lagann.
The cast is headed by Yuzuki Ryouka (Katsuragi Mari) and Koshimizu Ami (Schokolade, Maou - MaouYuu) where both of which I'm not exactly a fan of. But I do have to admit that I'm starting to take a liking on Koshimizu, just a few more interesting roles perhaps. Anyway female voice actors don't always grab my attention anyway so I won't look forward so much on the seiyuu on this one and just cross my fingers that I'll enjoy the action and story instead.

Galilei Donna [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre:
Production: A-1 Pictures
Synopsis:
The story takes place in the year 2061 AD, where global warming is a thing of the past and the early days of a glacial era now cover the entire world. Three descendents of Galileo living in Tuscany, Italy—Hozuki Ferrari, Hazuki Ferrari, and Kazuki Ferrari—are suddenly attacked by a mysterious organization and ultimately end up on international wanted lists. The organization's purpose is something called "Galileo Tezoro." With no clue what is going on, the three sisters must join forces to overcome the crisis, but their personalities are too different, making this no easy task.
[ANN]
Thoughts:
That plot is such a mystery. It makes me wonder what will actually go on in this series. But I guess I can just rely on the idea that A-1 Pictures is doing this and it's airing in the noitaminA block that this will be good. I saw the latest PV on the noitaminA site and I guess it'll be a bit action pack which is interesting~ The art and character designs are also very commendable that I was instant caught by it. I'm still thinking whether I'd watch this weekly or marathon it after. I guess it'll still depend on how other people view it. Action is always better in marathon so I'll see about that.
The main cast isn't entirely that familiar to me (or not exactly part of my fave list) especially Shindou Kei (Naomasa). Ookubo Rumi (Miniwa Tsumiki, Ichimiya Tohko) and Hidaka Rina (Shirakiin Ririchiyo, Silica) on the other hand are voice actors that I've heard of 1, 2 or whatever times. They weren't really just that memorable to me.

Magi: the Kingdom of Magic [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Shounen
Production: A-1 Pictures
Synopsis:
The second season will be set in Magnostadt.
This story [Magi: the Labyrinth of Magic] is about the flow of fate and the battle to keep the world on the right path. Aladdin is a boy who has set out to explore the world after being trapped in a room for most of his life. His best friend is a flute with a djinn in it named Ugo. Soon enough, Aladdin discovers he is a Magi, a magician who chooses kings, and he was born to choose kings who will follow the righteous path, battling against those who want to destroy fate. Follow his adventures as he meets others from 1001 Arabian Nights, like Ali Baba and Sinbad, and fights to keep the balance of world in check!
[ANN]
Thoughts:
The first season wasn't exactly that good for me since I kind of struggle to get pass the Balbad arc which was damn annoying (just when I thought that I'd like Alibaba). Anyway recalling from where S1 left off, I'm expecting this season to be a lot more interesting. AND just what is this Magnostadt that you speak of? Hahaha, guess I'll just find it out once I watch it :3
Kaji Yuuki as Alibaba is no doubt really great although I have this tendency to get annoyed with his characters. But don't get me wrong, I believe that Kaji-Kaji is a great voice actor he just gets this ridiculously annoying main characters (Ouma Shu, Alibaba) but mind you I like Eren Jaeger, hahaha. Tomatsu Haruka (Anaru, Takatsuki Ichika) and Ishihara Kaori (Reki, Azuki Azusa) also come back to reprise their roles as Morgiana and Aladdin for this season. I missed Morgiana! :3

Yowamushi Pedal [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Shounen, Sports
Production: TMS Entertainment
Synopsis:
Otaku Sakamichi Onoda has just entered high school and plans to join the anime club. In middle school, Onoda didn’t have any friends with whom he could talk about anime, games, Akihabara and other otaku things, and he is hoping he can make such friends in the anime club, but he finds out it's been disbanded. In order to reestablish the club he tries to find 4 other people who would like to join.
Since he was a little boy, Onoda has ridden his mamachari—a bulky bicycle with a step-through frame mainly used for short rides, such as for casual fun or to pick up groceries—to go to Akihabara every week to check out or buy otaku things. Fellow freshman Shunsuke Imaizumi and bicyclist, while training, notices a boy (Onoda) riding his mamchari up a steep road.
Freshman and road racing cyclist, Shokichi Naruko visits Akihabara to get some Gundam plastic models for his younger brothers and meets Onoda who catches his attention because of the his cycling skill on the mamachari and later find out they go to the same school. Later on, both Naruko and Imaizumi try to convince him to join the bicycle racing club, but will he?
[MAL]
Thoughts:
Another sports series for the season! This season sure offers an unusually fair amount of sports series. First off I'm generally just engaging myself to more of this genre. I think that the sports genre has a certain charm that I find myself difficult to appreciate but as annoying as I can get, I'd want to see the beauty in the genre itself. And second, Yowamuchi Pedal's plot has an interesting connection to the otoku culture :3 Anyway, I'd say I'm seeing this as a typical shounen series with probably some talk on dreams and shit (so I'll obviously check it out for that).
Cast is seriously good although not exactly the main cast. Headed by (once again another) newbie voice actor Yamashita Daiki, Fukushima Jun (Manabe Yoshihisa) whom I always mistake with Fukuyama Jun and Toriumi Kousuke (Azuma-sensei, Ogata Yuzuki). The supporting cast is looking great which includes Hino Satoshi, Han Megumi, Abe Atsushi, Kakihara Tetsuya and a few more.

Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta [ANN|MAL|Official Website]
Genre: Shounen
Synopsis:
In a town where humans and demons co-exist, it takes more than a normal police force to maintain the peace. Enter the Hiizumi Life Counseling Office, a fantastic foursome of unique teenagers, each gifted with an amazing super power! Since it sometimes takes real demon-fire to fight demon fire, the first three quarters of the team aren't exactly human: Ao, a cat-eared telepath; Kotoha, a half-human conjuror; and Hime, descended from a dragon (and the town's acting mayor), all of whom also happen to be delightfully female.
Rounding out the group is the token male and human, Akina, the office director and "Oyakume," capable of banishing spirits permanently (and from their point of view quite fatally) via a process called tuning. They may not look as impressive as some other superhero teams, and they certainly don't have the most dynamic name ever, but come hell hounds or high water, but they will defend their city!
[MAL]
Thoughts:
I've never watched the original Yozakura Quartet series but I've always been interested in need. I just can't squeeze it in during my random anime watching - guess that makes it not that interesting at all, huh? Anyway, at times like this, it makes me happy for shits like re-runs or re-makes because it allows me to actually care about the series I failed to see back then. I think that this is a re-make or as they said re-telling of the original series which is why it instantly caught my attention. I think that there isn't really anything special about this series just your plain shounen-superpower series with a powerless guy and awesome girls around. But whatever shit this series will go around I'm pretty interested to see it.
The cast is the same as before. Being headed by Kaji Yuki (Eren Jaeger, Hanemura Megumu), I'm definitely trusting that his performance is as great as ever. Together with Kaji is Sawashiro Miyuki (Kanbaru Suruga, Inaba Himeko) whom I totally missed. I think I wasn't able to watch anything this season that she voiced a character on. There're also Fujita Saki (Ymir, Inami Mahiru) and Fukuen Misato (Shiguma Rika, Okonogi Momoe) whom I believe is also pretty good in that Rika role and pretty memorable on that Okonogi role :3

Kishi Seiji-sensei, why you not make another 'the animation' series? / Д゚)/ okay that was sarcasm. I heard various reactions of his adaptation of Danganronpa but Devil Survivor 2 was pretty damn bad for me. Sees the staff for series composition… *gasp* it's Uezo Makoto, the same guy who work on DeSu2. I wonder how this one will go. I hope the flow of the series will go nicely and that things would actually make some sense - oh you see that plot there? It says a Fleet of Fog loaded with super weapons suddenly appear[ed]. SO I was like, seriously? If this doesn't get cleared up in the series, I'd say that Kishi Seiji x Uezo Makoto fails once again :P
The cast is headed by Fuchigami Mai (Nishizumi Miho) and Okitsu Kazuyuki (Muroi Seishin). While I did liked Girls und Panzer as a series, I don't think Fuchigami's performance there was anything notable. I honestly barely see outstanding voice acting in typical slice of life series. Okitsu, on the other hand, has done a really amazing work way back at Shiki. I'd like to hear him once again. I think with this kind of series, both voice actors potentials can be seen nicely. I'm definitely eyeing on Okitsu here. Supporting cast isn't anything special~

Genre: Fantasy, Horror, Shounen, Psychological
Production: Studio DEEN
Synopsis:
The "life-and-death sibling" story follows Utsutsu and Yume Hasegawa, a boy and his little sister who find themselves all alone. One day, Yume sees a mysterious red butterfly and her body undergoes a strange metamorphosis—into a creature that eats humans. Utsutsu struggles to find a way to restore his sister.

Thoughts:
This series is probably one of the must-watch series this season because its highly interesting premise. The horror x psychological combination is always a great plus but Studio DEEN hasn't exactly done something of those genre for me (looking at those that I've seen). Their atmosphere has never really done something that catches my attention so I guess that's something to worry about the execution of the series.
The cast is headed by Kido Ibuki (Andou Natsuki) whom I believe hasn't done anything notable being a newbie and all (but she does have that main character in OniAi - guess I need to watch this soon). We also have Shimazaki Nobunaga (Kirishima Kaito, Aikawa Shinnosuke) here which is something to look forward to in the cast since this newbie guy here need more amazing roles to make a name :3

Will Watch when I feel like it.
I've placed in here series which I think I might consider watching but not entirely excited for. Depending on other bloggers' first impressions and probably series reviews, I'll watch this weekly or marathon it or plainly drop it.

I honestly don't see anything special in this series but it seems that something about its plot tells me that I should just watch it either way (but I'm honestly still thinking about it as well but more or less I'll be watching this). I guess the cast has something to do with it because of the Ishikawa Kaito x HanaKana there in the main cast. Bt either way, I'd like to read some first impressions and see what will be going on with this series.

The only reason this thing is in my list is because I feel a bit obligated to check out what happened after the first season. I'm personally still thinking whether I'll really watch this or what. But for now, not watching this is winning. The reason I'm having second thoughts in this is that despite how much I like Charlotte and Laura, the concluding episode of IS left a bad impression or feeling in me (although I can't exactly remember it -_-)

"Having a light novel author father and an eroge illustrator mother, Kanou Shinichi is a thoroughbred otaku." Series with synopsis like these are pretty damn interesting. Although I'm no MOE fan, Outbreak Company does seem pretty interesting but on the other side of the coin, I'm still having this impression that this series will fall under the 'ecchi genre despite how MAL hasn't exactly indicated anything...

Another possible FUJOSHI series (aside from KuroBas)! Must be the fujoshi offering for the season ( ω ) Anyway, despite the pointlessness this series shows - the story revolves around a group of 5 glasses-wearing high school boys and their relationship - I'll probably end up checking it out either way out of curiosity *insert Frau laugh here*

I don't think that Non Non Biyori is a bad series but I just think that it doesn't exactly have anything new in it that actually watching it will seem like a waste of time. But there's this stupid part of me that's saying that I should check it out so I'll probably do so after going through a couple of reviews.

According to the Fall 2013 anime chart, the anime will center around the extracurricular activities of students. Sounds like typical slice of life x school club series. AND yes, I think it is. But that's what good about it. There are times that I'd just want to see something highly typical and pointless.

I didn't exactly enjoy Valvrave but I'm a bit positive that I'll end up watching this second season either way since I'm a bit curious on a couple of things despite how much I didn't like a few stuff about the series in general. Sunrise, you better make this season better and conclusive :3 and damn, why are they wasting Ohsaka Ryota's talent on some damn character named Haruto? -__-

Vampire series, huh? Doesn't pique my interest there. In fact, nothing much about this series that catches my interest. I just think that it's a bit worth to check out for the sake of its efforts of having some whatevershit that synopsis is going on with. AND did I said that the main guy looks cool in that key visual poster XD

Military Weapons with those really cute (and perhaps sexy) girls. Kind of reminds me of C3 (as in C Cube not the recently air C3-bu) but they are supposedly pure machineries here or something. Or doll. Whatever. It's a harem series headed by Shimono Hiro so I can kind of imagine how his character will be :)) Too bad there's no comedy in the genres stated by MAL. ohwell.

Lessening the series I watch is such a difficult thing that I'm still battling myself whether I'd watch this one or not. For one, the story isn't really something that have so much substance that it really won't hurt to skip it but seeing a series with that seemingly lighthearted synopsis makes me just want to try it. Gingitsune looks a bit boring on the outside but looking at the latest PV, I'd say that it looks like some lively show targeting children (or so I think).

Action-Fantasy. Typical story. And I was like, who' watch this stereotypical-looking fantasy series? Then I saw the cast. Damn I hate myself for that. The cast is headed by the great Sugita Tomokazu together with Nakamura Yuuichi, Kakihara Tetsuya and Ueda Kana. I'm kind of hoping that there's at least a bit comedy here with Sugita as the main character.

I still can't exactly decided whether to actually watch this or not since the first season wasn't exactly to my liking or maybe I just had failed emotional expectations for the series. I was looking forward to some good dose of drama and I actually get nothing *cries over that*. Anyway, the preview at the end of S1 was pretty interesting which is why I'm kind of considering watching this one. But I'll probably check out the wave of rage from other fans first before settling of watching this.
