UPDATE POST | September book haul + reading slump + future plans

old photo i took that i never shared anywhere :)
Hello,

I've been out for around two or three weeks now. I've been busy with uni. We had an event and I was one of the heads of the event. It turned out okay. Not what I was hoping for but I'm super glad it's done. Then, our thesis deadline was pushed one week earlier than usual so I had to work on it immediately after the event. It was super stressful. And a new problem rose during that time and until now, topic defense done and all, we did not talk about it. I still hope things work out though.

ANYWAY, setting all sad talks aside, let me get on with things.

This is a suuuuuuuper late book haul post. But better late than never, yes? These are my #MIBF2016 book haul. I mentioned them before but never had the chance to actually post them here :)

{ READING SLUMP }

Since I've been busy with uni stuff I can't find the time to actually sit down and read. Every time I hold a book and read, I FALL ASLEEP! LIKE WHY!?!? I tried reading a book under my fave genre which is science fiction - Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel. But because I'm busy, I read it on and off. AND because I've been stuck up to it for like two or three weeks now and have gone around four or five chapters, my interest in it just isn't in it right now.

I also tried reading a book from another favorite genre which is mystery thriller. I picked up In Gallup, Greed by Tower Lowe. It's a review book I received from the author but it also didn't brought me out of my slump. I'm halfway through it though :)

Third, I tried rereading a book I previously loved. I picked up Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. It's a classic. And since I grabbed some new copies of it, I decided to give them a read. So far it's okay but I'm not exactly super motivated to read it. Sad story.

NOW, I have no idea what to do. Help?

I'm currently rewatching an anime - Haikyuu. I'm also planning to pick up a very different book from my current read. A contemporary or historical or fantasy maybe? Help me pick?

Which book should I read to get out of my reading slump?

Twenty Questions for Gloria by Martyn Bedford
Made You Up by Francesca Zappia
Dumplin' by Julie Murphy
The Secret Language of Sisters by Luanne Rice
Girl in the Blue Coat by Monica Hesse
A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Dorr
The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

{ FUTURE PLANS }

FINALLY, I've been highly considering starting a different blog for all my book blogging. I've been in this blog for five years now. FIVE YEARS! It's a pretty nice accomplishment for me given my on again and off again blogging. And despite the mixture of things I've thrown on this blog. But now, I want to take book blogging seriously.

I'll be leaving this blog now. For real. I'll accomplish every commitment I agreed to this October. I'll work on the new blog in the next couple of months and open it on 2017. I hope you join in these last couple of weeks of The Blacksheep Project. I'll have a couple of mystery-thriller reviews this week and a blog tour for Blood Red Snow White on Friday.

More updates will be done :)

let's connect!
